The Central Government offers significant subsidies directly to people’s bank accounts and provides heavily discounted loans to make solar panel installation affordable. The government subsidy covers up to 40% of the installation costs.
The government plans to install solar panels in 1 crore homes across India under this scheme. This will help the government save approximately 75,000 crore rupees per year on electricity costs.
